Hosting Artrain USA
It’s a special event…
When an Artrain USA visit is scheduled, there is a sudden burst of energy in the community. People start working together both to enjoy the event and take advantage of the unique experiences and opportunities the visit generates.
It’s a boost to civic pride…
Hosting an Artrain USA visit is a great way to celebrate a special occasion in your community or create a special event for your community. By bringing the community together to host Artrain USA, you build a sense of civic pride.
It’s a great way to interest people in art…
Artrain USA brings art to people through an inviting and non-intimidating environment - a train. This simple yet unique environment adds a dimension of excitement to the whole idea of learning about - and learning to appreciate - art.
It’s a great educational opportunity…
The entire Artrain USA experience is focused on making art as accessible as possible to everyone. Designed with the “newcomer” in mind, but with the sophistication that an experienced museum patron can also appreciate, Artrain USA is sure to be entertaining and informative to visitors of all ages.
It’s a great way to spotlight local artists…
Part of Artrain USA’s commitment to its host communities is to present local artists. One of our railcars has been dedicated to providing a studio where local artists, selected by the host community, can work and exhibit their artworks during an Artrain USA visit.
It’s a great way to bring history to life…
Actually, it’s many great ways to bring history to life. Visitors will enjoy the world-class art exhibition featuring a variety of paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and works in other mediums. Train enthusiasts will enjoy the carefully refurbished coach cars that house the exhibition. And, of course, history buffs will thoroughly enjoy the renewed attention to the tradition of the American railroad.
What will you need to host an Artrain USA visit?
The requirements are fairly simple: energy and enthusiasm; a desire to do something special for your community; and a sponsoring organization to coordinate the event. Physical requirements include a straight, level railroad siding at least 450 feet long away from regular railroad traffic. This area must be safe, accessible, well-drained and have parking available nearby.
