On April 28, 2006, Artrain announced today that it had been awarded a $140,000 American Masterpieces challenge grant from the
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). One of only 16 grants awarded in the visual arts category of the competitive
American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of American Genius project, the NEA grant supported Artrain’s national tour of the
Native Views: Influences of Modern Culture exhibition from June 2006 to July 2007. Artrain received the second largest grant
among recipients in all the categories in the American Masterpiece program: visual arts, choral music and musical theatre.
