Planned Giving

“Imagine a gift that outlives you – a gift for future generations”

Just as the Dow Foundation and other Everlasting PARTNERS have, you can secure the future of Artrain USA through estate planning (also called planned giving).

By definition, a planned gift is a gift that requires the assistance of a qualified professional – staff person, volunteer or donor’s advisor – to complete or a gift which is carefully considered by a donor in light of estate and financial plans. The most common gift is one made through a will or trust. Estate assets including cash, securities, real estate, and tangible personal property, such as works of art, can be transferred through an estate.

An estate gift to Artrain USA ensures your support will be perpetuated, and with it, the important programs that reflect your beliefs and appreciation of the importance of the arts.

Many gifts made through estate planning offer benefits to the donor in addition to the philanthropic satisfaction of perpetuating your support of Artrain USA. These benefits may include:

You are invited to create your own legacy through Artrain USA – a legacy that will touch many lives for generations to come.

There are many ways to participate. Below are just a few examples of planned gifts. For additional information, please call Artrain USA at 800-ART-1971 or seek qualified guidance from a legal or estate planning advisor.

Bequests
Bequests (gifts made by will) are a convenient way to direct gifts to Artrain USA completely free of estate taxes whether it is a specific amount or asset, a percentage of your estate, or a residual amount. For sample bequest language, click here: sample bequest language button
Beneficiary Designations
Tax-deferred retirement saving plans such as IRAs can be subject to many different taxes should you die before spending your entire retirement account. To preserve the value of these assets, you can donate the balance or a portion of remaining funds to Artrain USA by making a beneficiary designation through your retirement plan administrator.
Life Insurance
Life insurance can be a convenient, cost-effective method of making a significant gift to Artrain USA. Artrain USA can be named the owner and beneficiary on a new or existing, “paid-up” life insurance policy.
Charitable Income Trust
This sort of trust pays income to Artrain USA. The trust principle reverts to the donors or passes to their heirs at the end of a set period of time. This trust is an excellent way to transfer valuable assets to children or grandchildren at a very low tax cost.
Life Income Gifts
Through a gift to Artrain USA, it is possible to provide yourself with an income for life. Life income gifts made through charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts can be designed to fulfill a variety of personal objectives. These gifts provide lifetime income (rates vary between 5-12%), qualify for a charitable income tax deduction, reduce or avoid taxes on capital gains, eliminate estate taxes, and diversify or secure a income stream for you or a loved one.

Note: Estate gifts such as bequests and beneficiary designations, are placed in Artrain USA’s endowment unless otherwise requested by the donor.
